Areg Vardanyan
Meaning is both hidden and vivid in Areg’s works
Born in 1983 in Yerevan. In 2006 graduated from Yerevan State Fine Arts Academy, Sculpture Department. Areg is a participant of international exhibitions. In 2002 he became a member of UNIMA (Union International de la Marionette).
Areg Vardanyan is one of the distinctive representatives of a young generation of artists from the Caucasus. He has participated in numerous group and republican exhibitions and competitions since his student days in Yerevan and abroad (France, Germany, Japan).
The sculptor prefers to work in bronze and skillfully uses its resources and characteristics. His art is more plastic rather than literary-narrative. His works are deprived of subtle nuances. They are lively and precise instead.
Meaning is both hidden and vivid in Areg’s works. Though in certain works the sense is easily perceived, they enable the onlooker to go deeper and explore their senses and imagination.
The sculptor is inclined to generalized forms. However, his works aren’t deprived of reality. While modeling Areg perceives general movement and idea.
